Therapeutic Massage

Myofascial Release Massage (MFR)

Myofascial Release Massage (MFR) is a specific form of massage which works with the connective tissue, fascia, which runs throughout the body. Overuse, trauma and inactivity can result in the fascia becoming restricted or stuck, often resulting in discomfort, muscle tension, restricted movement or unexplained chronic pain. MFR can address these effects, reduce pain, improve flexibility and improve range of motion.

Treatment will focus on relieving pain and discomfort, helping you to feel more comfortable within your body by addressing physical structural issues, trauma or chronic pain.

This technique works deep into the physical body without having to take an aggressive approach and it's results are longer lasting than many other massage techniques.

• Do you feel like your body is functioning at its best, like it should or could be?

• Does your brain / body connection feel like it could be working better or communicating better?

• Would you like a more improved range of motion?

• Does your body feel restricted in some way?

• Do you have scar tissue that impairs your body movement flow?

• Are you prone to panic attacks or high anxiety and would benefit from calming down the nervous system?

• Have you at some point experienced trauma as a result of a specific incident, surgery or a prolonged and highly charged emotional period of time?

• Have you or your body become closed off?

• Do you have unexplained chronic and constant pain or discomfort that no tests get to the bottom of?

• Do you have Fibromyalgia or Myofascial Pain Syndrome (SDM) that means you experience high sensitivity to pain, touch, and a high level of muscle spasms or fatigue?

• Have you lost sensation or flexibility in your limbs or extremities?

• Do you experience symptoms of Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)?

• Have you got a frozen shoulder or are concerned you’re developing symptoms of this?

What our customers are saying

As a little boy, I had a head injury that took away the function of my right arm and left me with a ghastly limp. I got all the feelings back, but by that point a tricky thing called atrophy had set in, so I was never able to relearn my hand and the limp gave me a curved spine, scoliosis. But twenty-nine years later, I ended up on Vicky's table for tendinitis, and when she asked if she could look at the rest of me, something clicked. As Vicky's worked on me, she's been able to do some amazing things: everything's coming back.

As I'm writing this now, my spine is straightening, and so scoliosis has effectively vanished. My knee is flexible again, so I'll relearn how to walk. My right hand is open again, and so I'm strengthening everything so I can use it again.

I'd recommend Vicky and massage therapy in general to absolutely anyone, especially to those in unfortunate circumstances similar to mine.

It seems anything is possible.
