Creating a break in the circuit.
Sometimes we get caught up in the cycles and patterns of our day to day lives.
Going to the same places again and again. Leaving home for work at the same time of day every day. Leaving home at the same time of day for work. Walking, bussing, driving the same route again and again. Eating and cooking the same foods we always do.
Then we get some time off. We have a week off at home. We go on holiday. We go on a training course somewhere new. A regular event is cancelled.
This changes up our routine. It takes us out of the cycle of the repetition of the every day routine.
It creates a break in the circuit.
We’re given a break from the norm where we are offered an opportunity for change. A chance to see our daily lives differently. A chance to see what our daily lives could be.
Have you embraced these opportunities?
Have you been invigorated by them?
Found new ideas coming through and an excitement about what you could do differently?
Have you taken those opportunities that you’ve been offered and kept it going?
Next time you get a hint of this, I urge you to embrace it.
Bring some spontaneity , change and discovery into your life.
· Give yourself extra time to try a new route, walk down a street you’ve always been curious about where it goes.
· Try out some new recipes or try a restaurant with food from a country you’ve never tried.
· Change what you eat day in and day out for lunch.
· Switch up your working hours to give yourself more ‘life’ time.
· Learn something new for you, not necessarily for work.
· Take something that feels like a chore and find the good in it. How can it be more fun or how will it benefit you and make you feel happier by getting it done.
· Book a one off class with friends or just for you that’s just fun!
